Newport’s lunch crowd is about to get healthy new option. Just Salad has officially opened their Newport location on the second floor of Newport Tower at 525 Washington Blvd.

After years of hard work, planning, and fundraising, over $700,000 will be spent overhauling a historic but underutilized landmark in the heart of Downtown Jersey City, as the group spearheading the renovations has everything they need to move forward with the project.

Two prominent Jersey City developers have joined forces for a project that will add rental housing and retail to one of the city’s major crossroads, a plan that will also help build a much-need annex for a local private school.

Developers are planning a seven-story structure at 323-325 Pine Street, between Johnston Avenue and Ash Street, in Ward F. The building is slated to include 20 residential rental units, two of which will be designated as affordable.

A loft-style apartment development is planned for The Heights neighborhood of Jersey City. The project, which occupies a former Studebaker showroom, will be named The Studebaker Lofts.

A five-story development is rising at 747 Grand Street, between Arlington Avenue and Harmon Street, in Jersey City’s Ward F. When completed, the building, which was originally dubbed ‘Grand Parc Residences’, will contain 36 market rate residential rental units.

A long-neglected building just a stone’s throw away from Journal Square’s building boom is finally getting some much-needed TLC, perhaps a small sign that some of the neighborhood’s older properties might soon see a piece of the area’s revitalization.
