While it may have snuck up on the public a bit, a new cocktail bar sporting a variety of amenities is set to open inside Mack-Cali’s Harborside property later this week.
Just about two weeks ago, we first reported on the imminent arrival of Manny’s District Lounge at 210 Hudson Street. The sprawling facility at the address is undergoing a $75 million renovation and new signage at the space next to the District Kitchen market quietly let the neighborhood in on what had previously been a well-kept secret.
Information about Manny’s District Lounge was scarce, but several points were made clearer during a preview of the space that was held over the weekend. The lounge includes a large bar, several seating areas, billiards, foosball, and ping pong tables.
Art installations that offer works for sale and high top tables complete the space, which stays fairly true to the property’s industrial roots.
In terms of drinks, Manny’s released a list of their five signature cocktails which features several nods to Garden State businesses. They include an Old Fashioned that uses New Jersey’s own Misunderstood Whiskey and an “In-Transit,” that consists of Mod Cup’s cold brew with Stoli vanilla, Kahlua, and simple syrup. A “Hair of the Dog” at Manny’s puts Corgi Distillery’s Earl Grey Gin up front in a refreshing cocktail reminiscent of lemonade.
Manny’s District Lounge will feature six taps that rotate brews and includes a bunch of local bottled and canned beers from Hoboken Brewing Company and others.
It’s still unclear what (if any) food could be served at the lounge, but curious locals will soon be able to see for themselves.
The business created an Instagram account over the weekend at the handle @mannysjc and just announced that they will launch to the public on Wednesday, October 23. Manny’s doors will open at 4 p.m. for their official Grand Opening.
