A chain that was founded just two years ago and already has more than a dozen locations has opened a second outpost in Jersey City.
A Sweetberry Bowls franchise is now in business at Suite E of the Newport Tower, located at 525 Washington Boulevard. The restaurant, which is situated along the passageway between the Newport Centre Mall and the Newport PATH station, held a grand opening ceremony back on February 28.
“We’re excited to be bringing a new healthy option to the Newport JC area,” co-owner Kevin O’Toole told Jersey Digs.
The business offers delivery and serves acai bowls, smoothies, salads, and other items. The opening of the Newport location comes less than a year after one opened roughly a mile away in the old Fairy Tale Place storefront along the Newark Avenue pedestrian mall.
New Jersey has seen a growth in these sorts of businesses over the last few years, with Sweetberry Bowls, Frutta Bowls, and Playa Bowls being among the largest chains with a presence in the Garden State. There are currently Sweetberry Bowls franchises in Bergen, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Passaic, and Somerset Counties along with locations in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, and Virginia.
