While it is not unheard of for owners of local food trucks to open brick and mortar restaurants not far from where their trucks have long parked, it is not often that a food truck concept from South Carolina relocates to a storefront in New Jersey. However, that is exactly what Scram, a breakfast sandwich business that previously operated out of a parking lot on Charleston’s James Island, is in the process of doing.
A Scram restaurant will soon be coming to 61 Erie Street between 3rd and 4th Streets in Downtown Jersey City, as JC Eats previously reported.
The space, which takes up the first floor of a condominium building, has been home to two bakeries in recent years. The most recent occupant, Enna Bakery, was only open a year and a half before closing its doors. Prato Bakery previously operated out of the space before relocating to 4th Street.
Scram listed its former food truck for sale in December after concluding its operation in the Palmetto State.
