A prominent ground floor space in one of Hudson County’s top shopping destinations is slated to get a new hospitality destination as Tapville Social has begun work on their newest location in Jersey City.
The brand recently announced a franchise agreement for a location that will open up on the ground floor of the Newport Centre Mall across from The Cheesecake Factory. The space has been a bit troubled since the COVID-19 pandemic, as Zinburger closed up shop in the storefront.
Manhattan’s Kings of Kobe took over in 2022 for a bit before shuttering, but the space has been dark for too long considering it’s location directly across one of the busiest stations on the Hudson Bergen Light Rail. Tapville Social is hoping their innovative self-pour beverage experience will change the narrative.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with both our franchisee and Simon Properties to bring Tapville Social to Newport Centre Mall,” said Joseph, CEO of Tapville Social. “This location is a prime opportunity to introduce our seamless, tech-driven hospitality experience to the Jersey City community and the greater New York metro area.”

Set to span approximately 7,500 square feet and be one of the company’s largest locations, guests at Tapville Social will enjoy a selection of over 64 diverse taps featuring craft beer, wine, and champagne along with a full-service bar and a seasonal patio space. The restaurant also offers cocktail, beer, and wine flights for those looking to expand their libations palate.
The food menu at Tapville Social includes shareable plates like sliders, wings, nacho towers, and beer battered pickle chips. Larger entrees include a Guinness-battered fish and chips, a bison bliss burger, and elote street corn tacos amid other eclectic offerings.
Tapville Social also offers “dirty sodas” for those looking for a non-alcoholic treat like a cookie butter delight that blends coke, cookie butter, caramel, and cream. The restaurant additionally sports a kid’s menu and will also be offering a weekend brunch service that include coffee flights, amid other perks.
The Jersey City outpost of Tapville Social will be the brand’s first New Jersey location, although they operate several mobile versions of their business in New York State. The restaurant is expected to open sometime later this year, and those interested in signing up for update can do so via their website.
