The Jersey City-based coffee chain, Bleu Coffee, is moving to the suburbs. Their newest location will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, November 3rd in Montclair. This 3rd location is situated right across from the Walnut Street NJT train station at 8 Erie Street in Montclair’s Walnut Street District.

Founded in 2016 by Kevin O’Gilvie, Bleu Coffee Inc. specializes in single-origin coffees. As a child, O’Gilvie visited Jamaica with his immigrant parents every summer and always returned with Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, which is revered as one of the finest coffees in the world.

When friends and family demanded he bring home more coffee with every trip, he knew he wanted to share this coffee with everyone. Soon he partnered with Jamaican farmers and local roasters to make his vision a reality. His passion for coffee has brought him some of the most remote corners of the world to find the best single origin, responsibly-sourced coffees.

They feature much more than coffee. Bleu Coffee also specializes in fresh-baked pastries, smoothies, juices, a selection of fine tea blends, sandwiches and organic salads. Plus, they offer freshly-roasted coffee beans to bring the Bleu Coffee experience home.

The new Montclair cafe will join two Jersey City locations. The first location opened in the lobby of The Beacon, the sprawling art-deco apartment complex which was once home to the Jersey City Medical Center. Their second shop opened in the summer of 2023 in Downtown Jersey City at 175 2nd Street.

The Montclair grand opening will take place Sunday 11/3 from 9am – 2pm and regular business hours will be Monday through Friday from 5am – 4 pm and weekends from 7am – 5pm. For more information visit their website or find them on Instagram.
