In case you needed more proof that Hudson County is becoming “the 6th borough,” the state Economic Development Authority has approved bringing 1,383 new jobs to Jersey City and Hoboken, with 1,271 positions being relocated from New York.

Two new businesses opened up in Hoboken on opposite sides of the city in the last few days, a week that also saw a long-time establishment revamp their menu, a new restaurant set an opening date, and a beloved bar provide a “teaser” of things to come.

Just over a year after opening, Little City Books is ready to expand. The plan is to open what they have tentatively named “Little City Kids” by Labor Day of this year to cater to the many young families in Hoboken.

Two local builders are hashing out the details of a redevelopment plan that will potentially bring Hoboken two new residential towers, a hotel, and a bowling alley, also partially reusing an existing warehouse in the city’s burgeoning northwest area.

Tomorrow marks another year for the Party With Purpose Hoboken 5K. This annual event brings out anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 runners to compete in a 3.1-mile race along Hoboken’s waterfront.

Bijou Properties has announced Park + Garden in uptown Hoboken is now fully leased. In less than 10 months, The Marketing Directors, the building’s exclusive leasing and marketing agent, successfully leased the property's 212 “green” apartments.
