After hearing rumors for awhile, we finally have some confirmation. It looks like the Rainbow clothing store at 145 Newark Avenue will be closing. The space won’t remain vacant for long, though, as the proprietors of Hoboken hotspot 1 Republik will be taking over the space.

It’s not just residents moving to Jersey City, companies are moving across the Hudson in droves. Just this week a report came out that four companies are moving over 1,200 jobs to Hudson County. And those are just the big ones that make headlines, many smaller companies are relocating here too.

Two new businesses opened up in Hoboken on opposite sides of the city in the last few days, a week that also saw a long-time establishment revamp their menu, a new restaurant set an opening date, and a beloved bar provide a “teaser” of things to come.

Several completed redevelopment projects in Downtown Newark that included retail space are now starting to see their storefronts fill up, adding some vibrancy to an area long considered a 9 to 5 business district.

The Morgan is hosting a food truck rally tonight at their leasing center parking lot. Grab a bite from some of Jersey City's best food trucks from 6-9p.m. at the corner of Bay and Marin.

Latham House starts welcoming patrons today in a “Tender Opening” , with the bar opening at 4pm and supper at 6pm. According to their website, Latham House will serve traditional American food and drink with a contemporary slant.

If you’re one of the holdouts still doubting Journal Square’s revitalization, maybe this will convince you - a Starbucks is in the works for the Journal Square PATH station.

A reader sent in a tip (thanks, Matt!) that a Krispy Kreme is moving into the old PNC Bank space at 95 Christopher Columbus Drive. According to permits in the window, the space is currently being demolished to make way for the new donut shop.

A Village staple since 2002, Madame Claude has made a name for itself by bringing delicious French cuisine and a casual, cozy atmosphere to the neighborhood. The French cafe is now reopened in the newly revitalized, historic White Eagle Hall, restored by Ben LoPiccolo Development Group, LLC (BLDG).
