Yesterday, Mayor Fulop joined officials from the Manhattan Building Company to officially open Cast Iron Lofts II, a new 27-story residential building in the quickly growing Soho West neighborhood of Jersey City. The ribbon cutting ceremony took place in the fully-decorated lobby of the new building at 300 Coles Street.
This new property brings 232 residences to the area with extensive resort-style amenities and over 20,000 square feet of street-level retail space. Units are a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes. With the tagline ‘live large’, the building boasts some of the largest new construction units in all of Jersey City. One-bedrooms start at 885 square feet with three-bedrooms homes reaching 1,885 square feet. Rents start at $2,495.
Paying homage to the area’s past, the building’s design takes on an industrial-inspired look with polished concrete floors in the lobby and raw exposed concrete walls throughout hallways and common areas. This industrial feel extends into the units as well with 10’ foot ceilings, exposed ductwork, and oversized windows.
Residents enjoy over 17,000 square feet of amenity space with all the requisite features such as a communal lounge with kitchen and bar, kids playroom, conference room, and a fitness center. On the expansive roof deck, there’s a heated pool, gas BBQ grills, fire-pit and a shaded grove seating area complemented by views of Downtown Jersey City and Manhattan.
“To fully maximize the resident experience, we’re also offering a 24-hour concierge, lobby package display system, valet dry cleaning service, on-demand fitness reservation system and indoor reserved garage parking,” adds Audrey Spina, Director of Leasing.
Cast Iron II adjoins the previously completed and fully-leased Cast Iron Lofts I building. Interest has been strong for the new property, the building is already 70% leased after just under four months.
Demand for the retail spaces has been strong too. Current businesses include 8 Spring Studio – a pilates and yoga studio, Brewshot, and Viaquenti Academy – a bilingual preschool.
“Cast Iron Lofts has bright a whole new community to this part of the city, truly creating a neighborhood blended with residences and small businesses,” said Mayor Fulop. “We look forward to meeting our newest residents and welcoming more as we continue to grow this into a vibrant area.”
Construction is underway on the next SoHo west project, a two-tower building with 377 units. When completed, the Soho West development will have 1,360 residences.
An onsite leasing center is open in Cast Iron Lofts I, at 837 Jersey Avenue.
