A new seafood restaurant called Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen will be opening in Jersey City on the ground floor at one of the city’s newest developments and hopes to start transporting guests soon with their coastal dining experience.
Later this month, Jersey City’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is slated to hear an application to transfer a liquor license to the address of 166 River Drive. That storefront is the northernmost retail space inside LeFrak’s The Beach complex and Jersey Digs has learned a seafood-forward eatery called Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen is headed to the space.
The new restaurant’s ownership team includes restaurateur Johnny Leung, who has run local favorite Komegashi since it first launched in Jersey City back in 1990. The group says Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen will pride themselves on delivering “an elevated coastal dining experience” that showcases fresh ingredients.
Libations at Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen will include a variety of handcrafted cocktails meticulously prepared with top-shelf spirits, an expansive wine list, and a variety of beers. The restaurant’s space itself will sport Hudson River views and outdoor seating will be utilized during the warmer months.
The ownership of Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen hasn’t released a menu just yet, but they are aiming to have their elevated casual seafood experience open later this year. Construction has already begun at the property and the restaurant can be followed on Instagram at their newly created handle @blueanchorjc.
Blue Anchor Bar + Kitchen is the second new restaurant that will be opening inside The Beach, as Jersey Digs broke the news last week about the impending arrival of NYC’s Dunhuang at the property’s other storefront space.
