The team behind a popular McGinley Square restaurant has launched a new endeavor next door as One World Pizza.
The endeavor soft opened late last year inside space at 49 Baldwin Avenue directly across the street from The Beacon. One World Pizza is adjacent to Café Alyce, which launched inside the former Medical Center Luncheonette space just about four years ago.
The new restaurant also comes courtesy Tory Aunspach, who co-owns One World Pizza, Café Alyce, and is formerly of Hooked JC fame. One World Pizza’s goal is to celebrate the diversity of the earth through pizza. The space offers diners a chance to embark on a culinary journey through its creative pizzas and salads available for eat-in, take-out, or delivery.
One World Pizza only offers a prepaid, reservation only, prix fixe menu for dine-in parties of up to four. It’s a 55-minute affair that allows diners to see how the pizza is made. Service at the restaurant includes an amuse bouche, two salads, and a choice of four shareable old-world pizzas for the table for $30-40 per guest, depending on the experience chosen.
Among the early highlights of their unique pizzas include a Jamaican jerk brisket variety, a salmon lox pizza, or a chicken Makhani pie. You may have to hunt for the non-descript sign a bit, but we promise that it’s worth it.
The restaurant is still BYOB for now, although One World Pizza is planning on expanding the existing Cafe Alyce liquor license by the end of February. For their a la carte menu, takeout is available through Toast and delivery orders are available through all the major delivery apps.
