One of the Garden State’s more popular delis will add two locations to its growing empire in 2025. Millburn Deli has agreed to deals that will expand its presence to Hudson and Somerset Counties.
The deli, which has been in Millburn’s Downtown since 1946, is officially opening inside the Bridgewater Commons mall. The facility’s owner announced that Millburn Deli has signed a lease for 2,233 square feet across from Cava Grill.
Millburn Deli recently announced in an Instagram post that it will also be expanding to Jersey City. The Hudson County shop is slated to open at 101 Hudson Street inside the Harborside complex.
Besides their flagship in Millburn, the deli has existing outposts in Morristown, Montclair, and Westfield. Jersey City will mark their fifth location, with Bridgewater being their sixth shop.
For those uninitiated, Millburn Deli is known for its famous Sloppy Joe’s and unique sandwiches. Highlights on the menu include an Urban Cowboy sandwich with brown sugar brined pastrami, Swiss cheese, sweet Cole slaw, and chipotle honey mustard.
The deli also features popular seasonal sandwiches on a rotating basis like the holiday-themed Miss Piggy, which blends smoked ham, Swiss cheese, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce, and garlic mayo.
Millburn Deli has not announced any official opening dates for either of their upcoming locations but expects both outposts to be up and running in 2025. The business can be followed on Instagram at the handle @millburndeli for further updates.
Millburn Deli’s location in Jersey City’s Harborside is notable, as the complex is undergoing a major revamp since being sold for $420 million just about two years ago. A new cocktail bar and lounge named The District opened back in September in the complex, while the food court District Kitchen has also operated out of the space going back to 2019.
The group behind Morristown’s acclaimed 1776 restaurant have signed on to bring two or three new eateries to the complex, which sits on the Hudson River but has struggled to become the 24/7 destination that it hopes to be.
In October, Hoboken Girl reported that Jerrell’s Betr Brgr, a vegan burger chain, is slated to take up residency in the building after shuttering their Hoboken outpost.
