The team behind one of New Jersey’s most popular restaurants will be opening their second business in Montclair later this year as Fatto Con Amore is coming to a storefront along the town’s main street.
Montclair Hospitality Group Partners have announced a new sandwich concept they are opening at 349 Bloomfield Avenue. The company, founded by Ani Ramen’s Luck Sarabhayavanija, will be partnering with James Beard-nominated Chef Robbie Felice to open an authentic Italian sandwich shop that strives to be the embodiment of its translation “made with love.”
Slated to open in October, the specialty shop will offer a tiny slice of Italy in Montclair near the group’s acclaimed Wafu Italian restaurant pastaRAMEN. Fatto con Amore will offer the traditional vibes of the kind of salumeria that Chef Felice dreamt of opening since he was a child, with sandwiches made with breads from the finest local bakeries using imported meats, artisanal cheeses, vinegars, and olive oils from Italy.
Fatto Con Amore is slated to be an all-day affair, opening at 7 a.m. daily for quick grab-and-go breakfast offerings. Locals can expect Italian breakfast delights such as a prosciutto egg and cheese panino or a focaccia benedict cacio e pepe.
The all-day menu will feature antipasti such as an arugula insalata, Di Stefano burrata, and a salumi board with all the fixings. Cold sandwiches at the shop include Chef Felice’s quintessential “The Italiano” with Italian cured meats, provolone, fontina, arugula, romesco sauce, and semolina or a decadent roast beef with stracchino, truffle crema, black pepper, parmigiano and truffle balsamic on an Italian baguette.
Hot sandwich options will include a pepperoni panino or a concoction dubbed Tramezzini in Carrozza, which combines deep-fried mortadella, stracchino, mozzarella, and a pomodoro dipping sauce.
Fatto Con Amore will additionally sport a market with fresh pantry items personally selected by Chef Felice including meats and cheeses, assorted breads, and pickled or marinated delicacies.
