Bike-sharing has existed for years in some of the state’s urban areas, but such systems are rare in the suburbs. Now, Union Township is looking for proposals in order to create a bike-share program.
The bike share giant will launch for the first time in Hoboken during the fall and is set to add 15 new stations to Jersey City’s streets during 2021.
Jersey Digs has learned that a bike share program is expected to launch later this month at two parks in the Princeton area.
Officials are discussing the expansion of Hudson Bike Share into Jersey City and CitiBike into Hoboken and want to know where residents would like to see stations added.
The expansion will double the number of bicycles the program has available throughout Hudson County, adding 36 new stations for users to pick up a ride.
