Uber and Mack-Cali recently shared the details of a new three-month pilot program where Mack-Cali will pay up to $15 for its tenants’ Uber rides to and from four office complexes in Metropark. With this program, commuters will be able to rethink how they are able to get to and from work.
Trips covered under the program must start or end at one of the participating Mack-Cali properties, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. An Uber pickup/dropoff area has been established at each complex for ease of pickup. Employees at each building have access to a special “Uber for Business” payment profile that will bill the first $15 of the ride directly to Mack-Cali, with any additional balance automatically billed to the rider’s personal payment method.
This pilot program contributes to Uber’s large national effort to promote shared mobility and a shift away from traditional personal car ownership. By making it easier for people to use a mix of public transit and ridesharing, cities can help reduce traffic and the demand for parking, as well as lower carbon emissions.
Mack-Cali is the largest property owner in New Jersey and specializes in urban and suburban office developments that are convenient to mass transit.
