For years, Surf Taco’s bumper stickers have been on light fixtures, laptops, and cars all over New Jersey, even though nearly all of its restaurant locations are within Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Now, the Point Pleasant Beach-based chain is continuing to expand outside of its native region into New Jersey college towns.
According to a statement released by RKF, who brokered the lease, Surf Taco will be opening a 1,875 square foot location within the Princeton Shopping Center at 301 North Harrison Street in the Princeton North section of Princeton. This will be the first Surf Taco in Mercer County, and will be around a mile from the main Princeton University campus. Menu items will include fajitas, chimichangas, wraps, enchiladas, and burritos.
This news comes after Surf Taco opened a location last fall on the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Plus, the company just opened its first location in Northern New Jersey in Hoboken, another college town that is home to the Stevens Institute of Technology.
The statement also mentioned that Surf Taco and RKF are looking for spaces in Westfield, Ridgewood, Montclair, Morristown, and Summit. Princeton’s Surf Taco, the company’s 13th location, is expected to open its doors in November.
