A health-conscious food prep and meal service has officially opened their second location in Downtown Jersey City with another space set for a launch later this year.
Just about a year ago, Power Plant Café opened their first formal eatery inside the ground floor of the 60 Columbus development. The business comes courtesy Sam Boyce, who also operates a vegan meal prep service in Bergen-Lafayette dubbed BoyceMode.
Power Plant’s latest spot at 366 Second Street offers a wide variety of fresh-pressed juices, wellness shots, and smoothies, with concoctions that range from a kale, spinach, and banana option to a “peanut butter cup” drink that utilizes plant-based milk.
The café also offers healthy BoyceMode vegan meals on a rotational basis, with current dishes including a butternut rice and jerk seitan or a linguine alfredo and meatless meatballs dish. Baked goods and coffee from The Grind round out the menu.
The company’s third location is already in the works at 361 Newark Avenue and will be dubbed Power Plant Kitchen. That location is tentatively slated to open before the end of the year and those interested in a more concrete launch date can follow the business on Instagram at the account at the @thepowerplantcafe.
The Second Street Power Plant Café currently has operating hours daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
