According to Real Jersey City, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and his wife Jaclyn have bought a beach front property in Jaclyn’s home state of Rhode Island. The property, located at 46 Pilgrim Avenue in the affluent town of Narragansett, is an oceanfront cottage on Point Judith. The listing describes it as a fixer-upper.
Pricing history indicates that the home was first listed for $995k in 2016, and after a few price reductions, finally sold for $820k this past January, two months after Fulop won reelection. Real Jersey City also dug into the financials of the deal, however, the exact structure remains unclear.
Mayor Fulop’s primary residence is a home on Ogden Ave in The Heights, for which he paid $845k in 2015.
