From the folks behind the wildly popular and delicious Hooked JC comes a collaboration with another first-rate chef and not one, not two, but three new delivery spots — Green Things, Lit Burger, and Comfort Cookery — sure to satisfy any dinner craving six nights a week.
All three menus are on Uber Eats and available to a delivery radius that is traditionally very underserved. Green Things is also on DoorDash and all three menus will be on Postmates soon. From the edges of Journal Square to Bayonne, in Jersey City neighborhoods like West Bergen, Greenville, and Bergen-Lafayette, including the Country Village and Port Liberte communities, residents will finally be able to order more than pizza for delivery.
Green Things is tagged as fresh, fast, and delicious, offering entree-sized salads with endless add-on options. The diverse but straightforward menu includes specialty salads like the Kale Caesar Salad and a clever take on a classic with the Un Wedged Salad. The namesake Green Things Salad is tossed with your choice of housemade dressing and the Quinoa Chopped Salad is sure to be beloved by the grain bowl enthusiast. More than just an afterthought on a typical take-out menu, Green Things is solely focused on good, healthy salads substantial enough for dinner.
Lit Burger brings the meats straight to your door with mouthwatering, seven-ounce, hand-smashed burgers; quarter-pound hot dogs; and your favorite fried sides. Burger patties are an 80/20 ground beef blend served on a toasted potato bun and hot dogs can be topped with everything from classic kraut, onions, and mustard to jalapenos and ranchero sauce. Three different kinds of french fries are available plus onion rings and the best kind of fried potato — tater tots.
Comfort Cookery has the hearty, square meal you always want but never make for dinner. Oven-roasted chicken basted with thyme, butter, and parsley over mashed potatoes; meatloaf with rich brown gravy; wild-caught, pan-seared salmon; and all the best savory pies: chicken pot pie, beef pot pie, and Shepherd’s pie. A variety of vegetables are available on the side and don’t forget dessert — seasonal fruit cobbler and/or a double chocolate chip brownie served warm. Southern-inspired and soulful, this menu of comfort foods will stick to your ribs and satisfy.
Hooked JC’s co-founders, Chef Tory Aunspach and partner Natalie Miniard, were inspired by their customers’ real desire for good delivery in the farther reaches of Jersey City and north Bayonne, and with Chef Francis Samu, formerly of Sam A.M. and Oak on Pine, onboard these three new delivery spots are more than coming to life — they’re really cookin’! Every element of each menu has been thoughtfully considered and the recipes are designed to be efficient and cost-effective, bringing healthy, price-conscious food to your door fast.
