A unique brand born in the Garden State will be expanding to Downtown Jersey City later this year, as Happy Dayz Ice Cream will offer both classic flavors and more unique varieties.
The Edison-based business has placed signage up on the retail space inside the Canopy by Hilton property. Happy Dayz doesn’t have a launch date just yet but will be opening inside the westernmost storefront along the Morgan Street side of the property.
Happy Dayz opened last April and quickly took Middlesex County by storm. Their Indian-infused flavors and creative food options have quickly garnered them a local following.
“Ice cream typically conjures up images of tastes like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or even coffee,” reads the mission statement of Happy Dayz. “But in India, kulfi, mango, or rose ice cream would be the first option.”
The signature flavor at Happy Dayz Ice Cream is their rainbow variety, while other unique options like lychee, and paan adorn the menu. The shop’s kesar pista flavor combines saffron and pistachio for a refreshing treat.
Happy Dayz also serves more traditional flavors like cake batter, chocolate brownie, chocolate marshmallow, coffee, and cookie dough. Sundaes with a choice of any ice cream are on the menu, as are “happy shakes” with additions like Reese’s Pieces, Oreos, M&Ms, or Twix.
A selection of baked goods including donuts and ice cream cakes is featured at the shop’s Edison location, as are coffee and espresso drinks. For those looking to avoid a sugar rush, a selection of teas is also available.
Happy Dayz isn’t just an ice cream spot, however. The shop services an eclectic variety of Indian-inspired savory dishes that include kathi rolls, an Aloo Tikki Burger, a Paneer Burger, Masala spicy chicken tenders, or chicken nachos.
