Ironstate is moving full steam ahead with Phase II of the Columbus Towers project. Pilings are going in for the new 90 Columbus tower that will rise alongside the recently completed 70 Columbus. Also, 80 Columbus, the hotel portion above the Grove Path station, is well underway as well and is slated to open in June 2016 as a Marriott Residence Inn.
Speaking of 70 Columbus, rumor has it that they’ve already leased over 40% of the building since leasing began in October. Considering there are 543 units, that means over 220 units have been leased in about 2 months. Pretty impressive!
One of the retail spaces at 70 Columbus has been leased to Sunac Natural Market, a natural and organic grocery and prepared foods market with outposts in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The new 90 Columbus tower will be nearly identical to 70 Columbus, rising the same 50 stories but with a bigger footprint allowing it to contain 91 more units for a total of 634.
Since pilings are just going in, 90 Columbus looks like it will be ready in 12-18 months.
