Jersey City’s Riverview-Fisk Park is finally getting a new gazebo. It’s been four years since Hurricane Sandy’s winds blew the roof off the historic structure. Now, the Riverview Neighborhood Association has unveiled plans for a replacement for the destroyed gazebo.

The council voted 8-1 last week in favor of moving forward on the purchase or eminent domain of the waterfront property, which would be used as open space.

The park along the Passaic River is expanding further north and will include an amphitheater and an urban beach.

The first of three new parks coming to the west side of the Mile Square City will celebrate its grand opening, and construction of two other green spaces near the palisades is chugging right along.
