A popular Downtown business focused on healthy prepared meals will be moving to space near Riverview Park in 2019, a change that will allow them to provide more options to customers while opening a brick-and-mortar store.
Busy Bee Organics has been operating out of their current spot at 189 Brunswick Street in Downtown Jersey City since the company was founded in 2014 by Michelle Berckes. A graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, Berckes and her company is made up of a staff of nutrition professionals and natural food chefs that design fully prepared meals for customers.
Meals from Busy Bee use organic, nutrient-dense ingredients that are plant-based, gluten-free and dairy-free, and include options to add a responsibly raised meat or cheese to the dish. Customers can order their customized meals from the company’s website for pickup or delivery within Jersey City and Hoboken, with breakfast, lunch, grab-and-go, and sweets options all available for purchase.
As a service to the community, Busy Bee partnered with The Brunswick School since 2015 to curate a nutritionally sound, allergy-friendly organic food program at the school that now serves over 200 kids per day.
Busy Bee has officially closed up shop at their Downtown space and is in the process of moving their operations to 451 Palisade Avenue in The Heights. The bigger space will give Busy Bee the freedom to create more menu options and expand their delivery area. A storefront selling some of the company’s food is also in the works, tentatively slated to open in the spring.
Busy Bee’s regular business is on a short hiatus during the move, but deliveries will start back up again on January 7. Those interested in keeping further tabs on updates about the future opening of the Palisade Avenue storefront can follow the company on Instagram at the handle @busybeeorganics.
