A business from a pair of local Hoboken moms will be expanding into Jersey City next year as construction is humming along at The Hive’s second location.
Kristin Karotkin and Catherine Willhoit brought The Hive to 1000 Park Avenue just a few short years ago, taking over the much beloved Truglio’s butcher. Their coffee shop quickly became known for their kid-friendly play space and delightful cinnamon rolls that regularly spawn lines down the block on Saturday mornings.
The Hive’s profile rose so high after just three years in business that we included them on our list of Hoboken’s best coffee shops. The owners call the shop a “little love note to the community” with a decor, vibe and menu that reflect a business tailored to relaxation and family.
A recent social media post from The Hive confirmed that the shop is coming to 615 Jersey Avenue. The Jersey City outpost of The Hive will also feature a play area for kids and the store will be bringing over their apparel, coffee-inspired candles, and self-care items too.
The Hive’s organic coffee is locally sourced from Kobrick’s to ensure frequent, fresh delivery. Must try drinks at the shop include their cereal milk latte crafted with steamed milk and Cinnamon Toast Crunch or their Spring Fever Matcha tea.
The Hive hopes to launch in Harsimus Cove soon, writing on their Instagram that “if all goes well, we’ll be sipping with you in just a couple of months.”
