A new caffeine station is coming to the main stretch of the Mile Square City courtesy of a familiar face on the Hudson County restaurant scene.
Hoboken’s Historical Preservation Board heard an application last tonight for signage set to adorn the storefront at 123 Washington Street. Formerly home to Empanadas Café before that business moved next door, the 463-square-foot space is set to be taken over by an endeavor called Pour Amor.
The new shop comes courtesy of Massimo Aronson, who owns the nearby Bagels on the Hudson and Bayonne’s Buon Appetito on Broadway. Alexander Calle, realtor and owner of Solutions Barber Shop in Jersey City, also has a hand in the endeavor.
The upcoming business has already created an Instagram account at the handle @pouramorhoboken and describes their shop as serving “specialty coffees from around the world.” Each batch at Pour Amor will apparently be roasted to order to “guarantee blissful freshness and exquisite taste.”
Ownership disclosed to Jersey Digs that formal construction to overhaul the storefront has begun. While their lone Instagram post simply reads “stay tuned,” the coffee shop is hopeful they will be open sometime in early August.
