Paris Baguette is doubling down on Jersey City with the upcoming opening of a second location. The popular coffee and pastry chain is set to open at the base of the recently completed Journal Squared mixed-use development, just steps from the PATH station entrance in Journal Square.

The new storefront will occupy approximately 4,000 square feet at the corner of Pavonia and Summit Avenues, adding to Paris Baguette’s growing presence in Hudson County. This expansion follows the successful launch of a location in Hoboken last year, as well as another in West New York the year before. Jersey Digs reported in November that a fourth location is also slated to open downtown at 570 Washington Boulevard.

Known for its blend of French baking traditions and Asian-inspired flavors, Paris Baguette offers a diverse menu rooted in its South Korean origins. Customers enjoy a variety of baked goods, including mochi donuts, tiramisu mascarpone cheesecake, curry croquettes, sugar-dusted pastel de nata, pineapple brulee pastries, and sweet rice donuts. Alongside its pastries and cakes, the chain also serves signature Lavazza coffee.

Bobby Antonicello Jr., a broker with GRID Commercial Real Estate Advisors, who represented the landlord in the Journal Square transaction, announced the lease to Paris Baguette in December in a LinkedIn post. Antonicello added that the influx of new rental units to the neighborhood continues luring in local and national brands to Journal Square.

Though Paris Baguette has not yet announced an official opening date for the Journal Square location, it will eventually join a mix of businesses at Journal Squared. Among the retail tenants are Almost Home General Store, Cangiano’s Marketplace, JAG Physical Therapy, Apotheco Pharmacy, Whealth Café, and Food Story Supermarket.

Paris Baguette has been rapidly expanding its U.S. footprint in recent years. The company, owned by South Korean baked goods manufacturer SPC Group, plans to open 1,000 stores in the U.S. by 2030. It currently operates more than 4,000 locations worldwide. According to a report in NJBIZ, the chain also plans to open new stores this year in Ramsey, Clifton, Holmdel, Cherry Hill, and Edgewater.
