The Downtown Jersey City lunch crowd has a new option along the waterfront as New York City’s Naya Middle Eastern Counter & Grill has officially launched their second Garden State outpost.
Jersey Digs broke the news on the company’s impending arrival in Jersey City last year. Naya’s fast-casual dining has drawn accolades for its authentic ingredients and bold flavors since launching in Manhattan 13 years ago, with the brand making its New Jersey debut in Montvale last year.
Their latest New Jersey spot is now open daily at 15 Exchange Place. Owned and operated by Hady Kfoury, the Lebanese restaurant allows diners to customize their experience via a roll, bowl, or fresh salad with sumac pomegranate vinaigrette.
Proteins like chicken shawarma, shish taouk, kafta lamb kebabs, or falafel give customers a nice variety of combinations, and an epic mixture of 17 toppings including hummus, baba ghannouj, or lemon tahini add to the fun.
The appetizer menu at Naya has lighter fare like tabboule or grape leaves plus unique dishes like kibbe (fried beef dumplings) or rekakat (three Mediterranean cheeses wrapped in phyllo, deep-fried). Desserts like nutty baklava or nammoura round out the menu.
Naya is offering a few discounts to their new Jersey City customers. Through March 15, diners will get 50% off entrees for the entire day, with proceeds from the discount benefitting the York Street Project. The week of March 18th through the 22nd will see customers who purchase any bowl or roll nab a free kid’s meal.
The hours of operation at the Jersey City spin on Naya run from 11:00 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. The outpost is not offering pickup or delivery orders just yet but should be rolling out that service in the coming weeks.
