A Japanese-style supermarket that recently launched in Manhattan will be crossing over to the Jersey side of the Hudson River soon as Hashi Market has begun work on their first Jersey City space.
Hashi Market currently has three outposts in New York City and The Tribeca Citizen reported on their launch along Greenwich Street back in May. The Japanese grocery store offers food, fruits and vegetables, snacks, drinks and more inside their larger markets.
The company will be coming to Jersey City inside the Park & Shore development, which has a massive ground floor retail footprint but has not drawn any tenants since the project finished construction years ago. Hashi Market will be taking up space on the Washington Boulevard side of the complex just across from the Newport Green.
Hashi Market stands apart from other Japanese markets with their catering services and also provide fresh sushi and lunches at their market. Customers can find a variety of rolls. gyudon, pork gyoza, shrimp shumai, bento boxes, and more and the market, which offers delivery through their NYC locations through Uber Eats.
Hashi Market already has temporary signage up at their space announcing their arrival but have not set an opening date for their Jersey City store. They can be followed on Instagram at the handle @hashimarketus.
