A six-story development could be coming to a property that is sandwiched between two buildings in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette section.
330 MLK, LLC is proposing a project with 28 residential units and ground-floor commercial space at 326-330 Martin Luther King Drive, according to a resolution from the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency (JCRA). The document says that the project would include three “affordable” units.
During its meeting on March 16, all present members of the agency’s Board of Commissioners voted to approve the resolution, which formally designated 330 MLK, LLC as the redeveloper of the premises. State business filings indicate that the company was incorporated in January out of Hoboken.
The site is located between Orient and Claremont avenues, roughly four blocks south of the MLK Drive stop on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. Municipal tax filings list the JCRA as the owner of the parcel.
The development being proposed by 330 MLK, LLC is not the only project of this sort that could be constructed on JCRA-owned property in this neighborhood. In fact, as Jersey Digs first reported in November 2020, a six-story building with 25 residential units along with retail or office space is envisioned for a site just a few feet away at 336-340 Martin Luther King Drive.
