A mysterious new hospitality venture that has been quietly under construction for almost two years is set to roll out its offerings in the coming days as Don’t Tell Liv will be entering the Downtown Jersey City scene.
Jersey Digs spilled the beans about the endeavor back in late 2022. An application was made to Jersey City’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to transfer a plenary retail consumption liquor license to 138 Newark Avenue, a space that is situated above the Oliva Market along the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
Preliminary renderings of Don’t Tell Liv were then uncovered from Philadelphia-based designer Raymond Haldeman, who drew up plans for the space. The speakeasy-style restaurant will now officially be launching on January 31, opening their doors at 3 p.m.
Don’t Tell Liv’s focus is on cocktails and small plates. Food highlights from their released menu include a lobster BLT, bao buns, tempura oysters, or a seven-spice ahi tuna. Charred octopus, charcuterie boards, and several vegetarian options also dot the menu.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, a cocktails list has not yet been revealed by the restaurant. Don’t Tell Liv has shared a few fairly enigmatic images of space, so those curious will just have to check it out for themselves.
The business is slated to feature some late-night hours when fully operational even during the week. Don’t Tell Liv’s service will run Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. with a kitchen close at 11:30.
Don’t Tell Live will also be open until 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and will be hosting both a “Bottomless Drink Brunch” on Saturdays and a “Boozie Brunch” as afternoon service. An additional happy hour is slated to run Tuesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
