With so much development underway in Jersey City, it’s hard to keep track of it all. In our new Construction Updates series, we’ll visit all the new projects to bring you updates on the progress of each.
33 Park Ave
After topping out late last year, 33 Park Ave construction hasn’t slowed down since. The 44-story tower is getting clad in all glass. Currently, they’ve enclosed up to the 36th floor. The tower sits on a 5-story pedestal base that is clad in a more traditional aluminum and glass.
This is phase one of the project. A second matching tower is planned. This phase will create 448 rental units with the parking deck and amenity spaces.
207 Van Vorst
207 Van Vorst is starting to rise. Crews are up to the 4th floor of the 15-story building. Plans call for two 15 story buildings separated by a new pedestrian plaza linking Van Vorst Street with the Light Rail walking path.
Gulls Cove 2
We reported back in April that construction had finally begun on the second phase of the Gulls Cove project. After stalling out after the recession, the project suffered from lack of funding. The developer finally received $68 million in new capital to complete the project and now it looks like full stream ahead. In about two months, crews have built up 4 floors of the projects eight.
333 Grand Street
Construction at the corner of Jersey Ave and Grand Street started last year on the newest building in the Liberty Harbor neighborhood. The newest project abuts the recently completed 50 Regent Street. 333 Grand Street will be a new 12-story building with 233 apartments and 26,000 square feet of retail. As of now, they have the foundation done, build out the elevator banks and are beginning to build upwards.
We’ve also uncovered some previously unreleased renderings of the project.
