With so much development underway in Jersey City, it's hard to keep track of it all. In our Construction Updates series, we'll visit all the new projects to bring you updates on the progress of each.
Marin Residences
The Marin Residences are rising at 515 Marin Blvd. Located directly across from Newport Mall, the project will bring 397 residences and an entire block-long stretch of much-needed retail to Marin Blvd. Construction is up to the third floor.
The 17-story project is developed by KRE Group and Claremont Properties. Originally an estimated completion date of August 2017 was announced, considering its current status, that looks like it may be a bit optimistic.

Ellipse
After spending significant time preparing the site, Lefrak’s Ellipse tower in Newport is beginning to take shape. The 43-story tower sits on a peninsula jutting into the Hudson River. The ground level needed to be raised 13 feet in order to protect it against another Sandy-like superstorm. To do so, 50,000 tons of dirt was trucked onto the site.
Now that that’s out of the way, the tower has begun rising. It’s currently 12 stories tall. The oval, glass-clad tower was designed by Arquitectonica and will house 376 rental units as well as retail.

75 Park Lane South
Just a few blocks west of Ellipse is the site of the recently approved 75 Park Lane South. Also in Newport, this tower will rise 37 stories. Not much work has been done on the site since its approval in April but a pile driver was spotted indicating they’re likely driving in test piles. There’s no official word on its timeline, but it would appear the project is moving forward.
