Blue Onyx recently announced that they have broken ground at their “14 Summit” multi-family complex project in East Orange, New Jersey.
With construction expected to be completed in Spring 2023, the ground-up project will transform two lots and create a new campus — which includes the completed adjacent “18 Summit” — with a total of 77,913 square feet.
The five-story residential building will consist of eight studio apartments, 51 one-bedroom units, and 19 two-bedroom units. In addition to the 78 units, amenities include a co-working space, state-of-the-art fitness center, pet washing station, community lounge, two rooftop terraces, and bike storage rooms.

The project, located between North Arlington Avenue and North Walnut Street, offers easy access to the Garden State Parkway and Interstate 280. The transit-oriented site is located approximately a half-mile from Main Street, a commercial corridor of the city, and the East Orange train station.
The project received approval from the East Orange Planning Board in January 2021 with work anticipated to commence in Summer 2021. March Associates is the construction manager, while Inglese Architecture and Engineering designed “14 Summit” with the intention of it blending with the surrounding brick buildings.
