A brand that has expanded significantly since launching in New Jersey half a decade ago recently celebrated a new outpost as Alfalfa began serving the first customers out of space in Downtown Hoboken.
Jersey Digs was the first to report on the brand’s expansion early last year. Alfalfa has since taken over the former Sobsey’s organic grocery space at 92 Bloomfield Street and converted it into their latest café.
Initially opening at 1110 Washington Street, Alfalfa took over the former Schnackenberg’s Luncheonette back in 2019. Their seasonally rotating salads, breakfast burritos, and gluten-free doughnuts quickly became a hit with locals.
A second outpost followed in Santa Monica, California before expansions into Jersey City and Larchmont, California. Alfalfa’s brand seeks to “inspire healthier communities through balanced food and joyful experiences” with a focus on high-quality, local products from vendors they can trust.
The hours of operation for the new Hoboken location span Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with weekend service ending early at 5 p.m.
Alfalfa has indicated they still have more in the works, as a recent Instagram post from the company indicated that plans for their sixth store in Princeton are underway.
