A popular bar and restaurant with two Jersey City locations wants to close one of them. The downtown storefront of P.J. Ryan’s Tavern, at 292 Barrow Street, is now listed for lease by Hoboken-based Grid Real Estate.
The approximately 2,500-square-foot space is just over five minutes, by foot, from the Grove Street PATH station. It’s described as “cozy and inviting.” The main bar area accommodates 60 people, the patio holds 20, the bar downstairs packs in 30, and the upstairs party room can fit 50 people.
The listing includes both the restaurant and the liquor license, a precious commodity in New Jersey.
“This quaint downtown restaurant gives you the opportunity to establish your business in a already booming neighborhood. The restaurant is being offered as a turn-key operation with a already established clientele,” Grid Real Estate’s Roseanna Petruzzelli told Jersey Digs. “292 Barrow is uniquely laid out with a small private patio and two floor event space separate from the main dining area.”
The other P.J. Ryan’s location, P.J. Ryan’s Squared, is located at 4 PATH Plaza in Journal Square. Petruzzelli told us the Barrow Street pub will stay open until a new tenant is found.
Jersey Digs has reached out to P.J. Ryan’s for comment. We will let you know if they reply.
