One of the newest buildings in Downtown Rahway has welcomed a locally owned gelato and premium coffee spot as Wholly Cow has opened its doors in space near the city’s train station.
Situated on the ground floor of The Mint at 1542 Main Street, Wholly Cow is the brainchild of Terra Guaba. The Rahway resident and nutritionist saw a glaring need for a business like hers and created her 1,300 square foot shop to provide a welcoming ambiance complete with plush couches and traditional table seating.
Wholly Cow features a full kitchen and offers a variety of gelato items including their popular gelato sandwiches as well as locally roasted coffee, cappuccino, and cold brew. Plans are in the works to expand the menu to include bakery items.
“As residents of Rahway, we experienced first-hand the renaissance of its downtown and the addition of contemporary retail that’s created a cool New York City-type vibe,” said Mrs. Guaba. “After living at The Mint for a few years and walking by its retail suites countless times, my husband and I decided to inquire about leasing a space. Fast forward over a year and Wholly Cow has become a reality, fulfilling a dream to open a café that would bring people together and have delicious food options.”
Wholly Cow is currently open Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
