Commuters seeking a caffeine kicker at the Journal Square Transportation Center are going to have to wait a little while longer, as the Starbucks Coffee originally scheduled to open there this week is now looking at a May debut.
The opening of the 2,079 sq. ft. Journal Square Starbucks has been hotly anticipated, a very visible milestone in the progress happening here. When it opens, it’ll be the first Jersey City Starbucks beyond downtown – which already has four.
Poised to become one of JC’s next in-demand areas upon the opening of the first of the Journal Squared project’s three apartment towers later this year, it’s only fitting that the area gets a Starbucks. Plus considering how many commuters who pass through the station daily, it seems like a great location for the company.
In the meantime, you’ll have to travel to the Christopher Columbus Drive location to get your Frappuccino fix – or if you have a train to catch, there’s always the Dunkin’ Donuts on Summit Ave.
