A five-story residential development could be added to Newark’s Lower Broadway neighborhood.
The project in question would be built at 9-11 Clark Street between Broadway and Broad Street and include 16 residential units if constructed, according to an application that was submitted to the City of Newark by Clark Street Apartments, LLC.
The document says that the LLC-owned lot is vacant and that the firm is seeking preliminary and final site plan approval with variances from the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) in order to proceed. A hearing before the ZBA over Zoom has been scheduled for Thursday, July 15, at 6:00 p.m.
Site plans from Artek Studio, LLC that were released by Newark’s municipal government show that the building would include eight one-bedroom units, eight two-bedroom units, seven ground-floor parking spaces, and a bicycle room. A rendering that was also published illustrates that the development would have a design that would be quite unique for the neighborhood.
Note to readers: The dates that applications are scheduled to be heard by the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment and other commissions are subject to change.
