A unique pizza experience in Jersey City’s McGinley Square neighborhood has caught the attention of Food & Wine magazine, as One World Pizza was named one of the publication’s nine hottest new pizzerias in the country.
Launched about a year and a half ago inside the historic Borden’s Condensed Milk Factory at 49 Baldwin Avenue, One World Pizza is operated by the same ownership as Cafe Alyce and the former Hooked JC. The restaurant offers a reservation-only prix fixe menu that lets diners see how the pizza is made.
Service at the restaurant includes an amuse bouche, two salads, and a choice of four shareable old-world pizzas. Food & Wine selected One World Pizza as one of just nine restaurants nationwide for its annual roundup of standout new pizzerias, praising the restaurant’s 14 internationally influenced pies.

“The toppings on the 12-inch pies span global influences, from Korean bulgogi in a creamy kimchi sauce to Jamaican jerk brisket in a jerk sauce,” the magazine writes. “The North African pizza is a complex affair featuring ras al hanout-seasoned and braised lamb shank in a harissa tomato sauce, Medjool dates, pickled shallots, sunflower seeds, and Urfa pepper.”
The restaurant’s 90-minute progressive service is a guided experience by the chef. A table can be booked at One World Pizza on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through Resy.
One World Pizza is becoming one of several nationally known pizzerias in Jersey City, perhaps the most prominent being Razza. The New York Times once crowned them as the “Best Pizza in New York,” with owner Dan Richer publishing his own cookbook several years ago.
