A favorite Vietnamese Jersey City restaurant that shuttered after a 15-year run has regenerated in a slightly new form as Nha Trang Restaurant is officially open for business from the ownership behind the beloved eatery.
The restaurant, situated at 414 Grand Street along the fringes of Downtown near Jersey City Medical Center, is operated by the former New Thanh Hoai team. That business closed their 10th Street space back in 2022, after the landlord significantly increased the rent, making it unsustainable to continue operating.

New Thanh Hoai was actually the second version of the Vietnamese restaurant, as the same ownership operated Nha Trang Place at 249 Newark Avenue before moving. After a two-year absence from the Jersey City food scene, the business is back with their old name and a familiar extensive menu that locals have grown to love.

Bánh mì sandwiches, Canh soups, Kho To Tay Cam casseroles, rice plates with a slew of protein potions, and pho varieties are on tap at Nha Trang. The restaurant also serves Sinh To, which are Vietnamese-style milkshakes, to compliment the dishes.
Nha Trang doesn’t have a website or social media presence just yet, but they are on Seamless taking online orders. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays but otherwise open daily from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
