Though summer is over, ice cream cravings can hit year round. And now there’s a new option in Jersey City to get your fix when the mood strikes. In the back of Ani Ramen House, you’ll now find an entrance to an ice cream speakeasy. The venture is a collaboration between Ani Ramen owner, Luck Sarabhayavanija, and Luigi Beltran, founder/owner of Luigi’s Ice Cream, which has locations in Red Bank and Metuchen along with a food truck.
During weekends only, Luigi’s Ice Cream can be found on Ani Ramen’s all-season patio. Hours will eventually expand.
The concept seems to be a bit more creative than the other ice cream options currently available in Jersey City, with unique and eclectic flavors, rolled ice cream, and creamy buns offered. Notable flavors include Thai Tea and Cereal Milk.
Adults may be especially excited to hear that there is a focus on alcohol-infused ice creams created collaboratively with Ani’s mixology team using Japanese whiskeys, sakes, and other spirits. The Hennessy Pineapple and Cafe Patron Coffee Chip are some of the boozy options available.
Ani Ramen is located at 218 Newark Avenue in Jersey City.
