The unofficial kickoff to the end-of-year holiday season is a big deal in Hudson County, as blocks of rowhouses, restaurants, and other businesses transform their spaces with creative designs to ring in the start of All Hallows’ Eve.

Whether you’re in search of ghouls and goblins, whimsical decor, or some topical humor, Jersey City and Hoboken’s neighborhoods have no shortage of amazing decoration displays during the Halloween season.

While this is by no means an exhaustive account of an area that includes about 350,000 residents, here are some of the most decked out homes and storefronts from the Halloween season of 2024.

More than a few local businesses joined in on the fun, especially in the main dining districts in Downtown Jersey City and neighboring Hoboken.

Speaking of Hoboken, the city’s uptown brownstones are infamous for their topical decorations that show up every year. The 2024 version didn’t disappoint, with a few residents choosing some sports themes.

The Heights in Jersey City was not to be outdone as a ton of homes, particularly on Ogden Avenue, also got into the Halloween spirit.
