The hospitality team that launched Pop’s Corner in Point Pleasant last year has landed along Nutley’s main street for their next venture as The Hudson Rose will be serving their first diners later this week.
Situated at 238 Franklin Avenue inside a former steakhouse, the restaurant is the newest creation of the GAC Hospitality team. The Hudson Rose hopes to deliver what they feel the area’s residents have been missing: a New York-style experience that evokes the city’s iconic eateries.
Chef duties at The Hudson Rose will be handled by Andrew Riccatelli, a former champion on the “Chopped” competition show who most recently served as Corporate Executive Chef for Tao Group Hospitality in New York City. Riccatelli’s food aim to offer an elevated and unique approach to classic American fare with global influences scattered throughout the menu.
Dishes considered “must-try” include a short rib poutine that will be part of the brunch service at The Hudson Rose or a dry-aged duck breast for dinner.
The restaurant will feature a temperature-controlled, 500+ bottle wine cellar on display in the main dining room and the expansive wine list promises to hit all the categories for wine lovers plus some more funky offerings for the adventurous.
A complete revamp from Maxey Hayse Design Studio has fused tradition with innovation at the space, which features classic brick walls juxtaposed with vegan leather banquettes, mid-century seating, and a reclaimed wood bar. An expansive staircase leads to the loft-like Harlow Room event space, which can accommodate up to 200 guests and includes a lounge area.
The Hudson Rose is officially taking reservations and will be open for good on August 2 for dinner service, with brunch and lunch being rolled out later this month. The restaurant can be followed on Instagram at the handle @thehudsonrosenj.
