Hoboken-based Maridian Properties, a real estate developer and property manager with more than 100,000 square feet of commercial space and 200 residential units, just announced 16 new businesses inked leases in the past seven months, illustrating that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Hoboken continues to see investment and subsequent job opportunities for the community.
Maridian Properties worked with the City of Hoboken to identify and recruit businesses ideally suited for the Mile Square City, reinvigorating areas hit hardest by the pandemic and even re-signing 10 existing businesses during the same seven-month period.
“These lease signings demonstrate that, although the coronavirus pandemic has affected the local economy, Hoboken remains an attractive place to invest and do business,” said Mario Fini, Founder and Managing Director of Maridian Properties. “We look forward to welcoming these new businesses to Hoboken and providing them with a safe, convenient working environment that will allow them to flourish while serving the local community. And we will continue to do everything within our power to support continued business growth in Hoboken.”
The 16 new businesses set to open in Hoboken encompass an array of services from restaurants (Taco Bell; Empyrean Indian Kitchen; SouzaFit, a fitness-oriented eatery), professional offices (Essence USA; Lantern Publishing; Rockabill Consulting, specializing in affordable and supportive housing; Neymarc Visuals; SR Prime Management, a property management company), and a wellness center (Regenerate SoftWave Therapy) to medical offices (Downtown Pain Management; Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists; Anchor Therapy, a counseling center), a hair salon (Sixth Borough Salon), a tobacco shop (Hudson Smokes), and Hoboken’s first infrared sauna studio (Sweat + Glo). The new storefronts even include one of the largest sportsbooks in the world — Tipico.
The 10 businesses renewing their leases also run the gamut from coffee shop, The Roost Outpost, and Key West-inspired restaurant, The Pig & Parrot, to Hoboken services like Mathnasium, iPulse, Lukin Center for Psychotherapy, and Passport Health, as well as Hit + Run Creative. Glam Seamless, Salon Caru, and Elevate Movement & Wellness, a pilates/yoga studio, also renewed.
“Mayor Ravi Bhalla and the Hoboken City Council have been very supportive of the business community,” Mr. Fini added. “Through the dedicated efforts of the Hoboken Business Alliance and the pro-business stance of the City of Hoboken, Maridian Properties has been able to attract new businesses, restaurants and professional service providers from New York City and other surrounding communities who are eager to plant their flags in Hoboken.”
A boutique real estate development firm, Maridian Properties has also implemented cleaning and safety protocols, making it easier for commercial tenants to get up and running quickly and safely.
