A growing business featuring Indian twists on the traditional coffee shop experience will be bringing another outpost to Jersey City at a storefront near the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.

Hidden Grounds Coffee started out of New Brunswick back in 2013, initially operating out of an underground storefront that became the shop’s moniker. A second New Brunswick location followed and the brand expanded into Hudson County during 2018 with an outpost inside Jersey City’s Art House development.

Two locations in Hoboken quickly followed and Hidden Grounds will now be opening inside the former home of Two Crepes at 276 First Street. The company hopes to open the store this month and is currently hiring for various positions (those interested can apply here).

Founded by Anand Patel, Hidden Grounds roasts its own coffee beans from Sumatra, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. Beverage highlights include a Rose Iced Chai or a Saffron Iced Chai and the brand’s social media account trumpets house-baked donuts that will be coming exclusively to the upcoming new location.

Hidden Grounds has posted a few sneak peek images to its social media regarding the new space, which thus far does not have an official opening date. One could be announced in the coming days via the company’s Instagram account at the handle @hiddengroundscoffee.
