Meadowlands FC (MFC) is a local soccer club based out of Hudson County. Founded in 2015 by former Marine Officer, Christopher Loughlin, the club is part of the Garden State Soccer League (GSSL), the largest amateur soccer league in New Jersey.
Since the organization began, the club has tripled in size and features three different teams: semi-professional, over-30, and for the first time this season, a women’s team as well. The men’s semi-professional team has won their division the past two seasons and last summer, the team placed second in the state overall. As part of Dixon Projects’ corporate citizenship and community involvement, the company has joined the organization as a club sponsor to help MFC reach new goals that not only promote the benefits of exercise and teamwork but seek to enrich the greater community.
Speaking on the partnership with Dixon, Chris remarks, “There are definitely parallels between our organizations – you’ve got a small company operating in one of the most competitive real estate markets in the world and here they are setting the bar for others to follow. That’s the exact goal we’ve set for our club and so far, we’re hitting the mark.”
Keeping in line with MFC’s rapid growth, the organization seeks to establish a youth system and create an annual charity tournament down the line. While Dixon has supported MFC in the past, the company hopes this full-on partnership will help the club reach these positive and impactful goals.
MFC club member, Gary F., states, “It’s exciting to have Dixon on board with the club. I’ve been playing with the Meadowlands team for almost two years now and Chris has created a phenomenal program. It’s great to get out there and play a sport you love, but even better when you know you’re part of something that strives to be bigger than just soccer.”
