CrossFit Jersey City’s second location will be three blocks from the Journal Square Transportation Center. It has joined City Café and Bakery at 2800 Kennedy Boulevard.
The new location sat vacant for two years until City Café took a portion of the location and opened its newest store in February of this year. Construction of the new CrossFit Jersey City across the street from the VIP Diner has now commenced. 2800 Kennedy Boulevard is owned by New York-based real estate firm Margulies Properties, who purchased the property back in 2016 for $1.5 million.
“We are seeing new retail pop up at every corner of Journal Square over the past 2 years. It’s exciting seeing the city’s central business district once again becoming an attractive location for quality retail and entertainment,” Bobby Antonicello of GRID Real Estate, who represented Margulies Properties in the transaction, said in a news release. CrossFit was represented by Colliers International.
CrossFit Jersey City offers seven different programs – from CrossFit kids to gymnastics and strength classes – at its location on Christopher Columbus Drive.
The gym, Bayonne’s MezCal Kitchen and Chipotle are the latest businesses to see growth opportunity in the Journal Square neighborhood.
