The Cast Iron Collection, an offering of upscale rental homes, resort-inspired amenities and supportive street-level retail space, has quickly become something of an icon in SoHo West (South of Hoboken, West of New York City), the exciting new lifestyle neighborhood being spearheaded by developer Manhattan Building Company on the border of Jersey City and Hoboken.

While the construction clatter of new high-rises is reshaping Jersey City’s skyline, that revitalization is being complemented by other developers like Dixon Leasing, who have focused on smaller properties in the city’s older neighborhoods.

Just one block from the Grove Street PATH station, Green Villain is hosting a Green Villain Exchange (GVX) Art & Music Festival. The currently vacant lot at 335 Barrow Street is slated for development next year. So why not take advantage and host a party before that happens

It’s not just residents moving to Jersey City, companies are moving across the Hudson in droves. Just this week a report came out that four companies are moving over 1,200 jobs to Hudson County. And those are just the big ones that make headlines, many smaller companies are relocating here too.

The rise of Airbnb and other short-term rental sites is a hot topic in many cities around the country, but regulations on the relatively new trend can be confusing for people trying to figure out if listing their apartment on the service is lawful.

Gary Lichtenstein Editions presents a radical evening of art at the edge with painter Keith Kimmel tonight. The event is titled “The CO-Lab Experience,” a live interactive performance situated within an exhibition of the artist’s recent and retrospective works. In the CO-Lab Experience, Keith Kimmel will break thru the classic wall of separation between artist and spectator by inviting the public to actively participate in an evening of collaborative painting.

In case you needed more proof that Hudson County is becoming “the 6th borough,” the state Economic Development Authority has approved bringing 1,383 new jobs to Jersey City and Hoboken, with 1,271 positions being relocated from New York.

As 532 Jersey Avenue finishes up construction, we’ve been keeping a close eye on what will be moving into its retail space. New signage indicates that Smart Start Academy will filling the Jersey Avenue facing storefront.
