There is no shortage of businesses in Jersey City with the word “king” in their name. New Jersey’s second largest city is currently home to several Burger King locations and restaurants called Food King, China King, and Pizza King. Soon, Banana King will be added to that list. The regional chain of fast food restaurants has revealed that it will open its next location in Journal Square.
The upcoming restaurant will be located at 665 Newark Avenue near the Five Corners, according to the website of the Paterson-based company. Menu items include 21 flavors of shakes along with juices, sandwiches, burgers, patacones, pinchos, and arepas.
The 1,700-square-foot space, which is located a stone’s throw away from Summit Avenue, was previously occupied by Casa Manila, a Filipino restaurant that is now in Union.
Banana King recently opened its second Hudson County location in West New York and has additional restaurants in Elizabeth, North Bergen, Passaic, and Paterson. While the hours of the Jersey City outpost have not yet been listed, several Banana King locations are open 24/7.
