Journal Squared Overview

Journal Squared in a 3 tower mega-project currently under construction in the Journal Square neighborhood of Jersey City.

Once completed the complex will contain 3 towers housing 1,838 residential units, 36,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and a planted public plaza.

The project is the first major development in the Journal Square area in decades. Mayor Steven Fulop, long a proponent of development outside of downtown, has called the project a “game changer” for Journal Square.

Phase I

The first Phase of the project will be a 54 story tower with 538 residences. There will be 10,000 square feet of amenity space on the 8th floor with another sky lounge on the 53rd floor. Amenities include an outdoor pool, fitness center, golf simulator, and children playroom.

Phase II

The second phase is the 70 story second tower with an estimated completion date 5 years after phase 1 is completed (around 2021). Once completed, the 70 story tower is expected to be the tallest residential tower in New Jersey.
